We’ve been getting a lot of questions about this guy! Meet our friend and jookin’ (a style of street dance that originated in Memphis) dancer Lil Buck.
Charles “Lil Buck” Riley first collaborated with Yo-Yo Ma in April 2011 on Camille Saint-Saëns’ Le cygne (The Swan) and joined the Silk Road Ensemble in June 2011 for the culminating event of our Silk Road Connect program that took place in several NYC public middle schools. We met Lil Buck through Damien Woetzel — the former New York City Ballet dancer and current director of The Aspen Institute Arts Program — who sits on the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities (PCAH) with Yo-Yo.
